JamBox provides creative space for all sorts of music, sound creation, media manipulation and recording.
We are a grass roots recording studio, video editing and rehearsal space, operating as a recording/jamming co-op (the Collective) providing members and their clients a professional project studio.
The location is intimate and private. In the inner SE Division neighborhood, it allows activity virtually any time, especially for the important late-night jam. The property consists of a small highly isolated cutting room, with 16 balanced channels to a comfortable but professional control room. While our philosophy is “ear before gear” (i.e. the people and their talents are more important than specific gear) we feature high quality equipment capable of creating professional results:
- ProTools Digi 003 with software and plugins.
- Final Cut Pro video editing.
- Genelec and Event monitoring.
- Sure, AKG, and Studio Projects microphones.
- Various microphone preamplifier’s, including Neve clones.
- “Distressor” compression and vintage effects.
- SVT and Fender Bass amplifiers.
- Ludwig drum set.
- Keyboards: Triton LE Workstation, Moog Rogue and a Vintage Fender Rhodes.
We provide a comfortable relaxed vibe with bathroom and a small kitchen.
We are accepting projects of all sorts, as well as additional members for the Collective. Artists, engineers, producers and musicians in the Portland Oregon area are encouraged to apply. Please contact Jimi Jazz on the Contact page, w/ ‘JamBox’ in the subject line, thanks.
