As a founding member of G. Love and Special Sauce, Jim ‘Jimi Jazz’ Prescott helped to create the bands unique sound with his string bass, combining punk, funk, jazz, rock, hip hop and classical stylings.

Taking a break from almost 15 years on the road with the Special Sauce, Jim can be found at his studio JamBox in his recently adopted home base Portland Oregon, exploring multimedia production, recording his own jazz oriented projects, or lending his expertise to up and coming talent.

Although no longer interested in getting on commercial airlines, Jim is available within driving distance of Portland, or via the internet. Contact us for adding string bass to your next project, booking his Hybrid Quartet or engaging in Jazz or Bass studies.

Camellia Lounge Jam Session Goes Weekly

Starting tonight the Jazz Jam at the Camellia Lounge is a weekly, instead of biweekly session.  No more thinking “is this the first or third Tuesday?”  Bam, if it’s Tuesday come on down… and if you want to swing, bring your axe!  It’s hosted by Noah Bernstein and Blake Lyman on horns and features a rhythm section of Akila Fields on Piano, Sam Foulger on Drums and myself.  The Camellia Lounge is in the back half of the TeaZone in the Pearl district, on 11th at Glisan.
